As has been expected for some time, Standard & Poor’s has downgraded the big four Australian banks to AA-. The downgrades don’t imply any deterioration in the quality of the banks. Craig Hobart, B.Ec, MMGT
Managing Director
Craig joined Tyndall in 2007 and is responsible for all aspects of the operations of the Tyndall business.
Craig was previously Head of Retail for Tyndall, where he was responsible for retail sales development, masterfund and researcher relationships.
He has more than 17 years’ experience in the financial services industry and prior to joining Tyndall held senior management roles with ABN Amro Asset Management (Australia), Deutsche Asset Management (Australia) and BT Funds Management.
He is active through industry representation with both the FSC and the FPA. Craig holds a Bachelor of Economics and a Masters of Management through MGSM.
Robert Van Munster, B.Comm, ASIA
Head of Tyndall Equities
Bob has overall responsibility for managing the Tyndall intrinsic value equity portfolios. He is involved in stock selection, controlling risk, portfolio construction and stock analysis, as well as managing the investment team and Tyndall’s process and process improvement
He has over 35 years’ industry experience. From 1989-94 he was head of the top-performing Legal and General Value equities team. He then moved into stockbroking research at BZW as an equity strategist and was head of industrial equities at County Investment Management before joining Tyndall in 1999.
Roger Bridges, BA (Hons) Economics, MA Economics
Head of Fixed Income
Roger joined Tyndall in 1998 and is responsible for managing the Tyndall award-winning fixed interest portfolios. This covers all aspects of fixed interest team management and development and portfolio implementation, and ensuring similar risk structures prevail across all the portfolios.
He has over 28 years’ experience in the fixed interest market, including 15 years with the Commonwealth Bank in the Treasury area as well as time as a financial markets economist.
Ken Ostergaard, B Comm (Finance)
Head of Implemented Management
Ken is the Head of Implemented Management at Tyndall and manages the Tyndall World Equities Fund. Ken joined Tyndall from Standard and Poor’s in 2007 where he was previously a Director in the Fund Ratings business, and his career has taken him to various locations such as London, the US, and Copenhagen.
Ken has over 20 years of experience in managed funds and equity research, sales trading, investment banking and portfolio management.
Craig Giffin, MAICD, MNIA, A Fin, Post Grad Cert Mgt (AGSM)
Head of Risk, Compliance and Legal
Craig joined Tyndall in December 2010. Previously, he was an Executive Director of Fortis Investment Management Australia Limited prior to its merger with BNP Paribas Investment Partners Australia in 2010. Craig joined Fortis Investments in April 2005.
He is responsible for all Legal, Compliance and Enterprise Risk activities for the Tyndall businesses in Australia and New Zealand.
Craig previously spent 5 years as Head of Risk Management and Compliance at St George Bank, and 9 years with Barclays Global Investors as Director of Risk and Compliance involved with the development and implementation of its global operational risk and compliance practice.
Andrew Julius
Head of Retail
As Head of Retail, Andrew is responsible for managing key relationships at dealer group and practice levels, retail sales development as well as masterfund and researcher relationships.
Prior to joining Tyndall in 2007 as National Key Account Manager, Andrew was with ING as NSW Business Development Manager and also worked with Aviva in a senior sales role and as a practice development manager for a dealer group.
Andrew has over 14 years’ experience in the financial services industry and holds a bachelor of business, a graduate diploma in financial planning, and is currently completing a masters of applied finance.
Matt Russell
Head of Institutional Business
Matt is responsible for sales and service for Tyndall AM’s institutional business and managing its relationships with asset consultants.
Prior to joining Tyndall AM, Matt was most recently Head of Institutional Business Development and Consultant Relationships with Colonial First State Global Asset Management (CFSGAM). At CFSGAM, he was responsible for new sales and asset consultant ratings and built a team of sales professionals and investment specialists. He has an extensive 28-year career in the financial services sector where he has built business development experience in both institutional asset management and corporate superannuation areas, with asset class expertise ranging across fixed income, credit and Australian equities. Prior to CFSGAM, Matt held senior positions held with Perpetual Investments, Deutsche Bank Asset Management and Barclays Global Investors.
